Total Quality Management (TQM)

The effective management of the primary schools are constant concern of the SCERT and its various units specially the DIETs. The major thrust of the SCERT activities and programmes is towards promoting quality concerns at the grass root levels. This can be achieved by continuously promoting the qualitative ethos of our institutions at various levels. TQM has been introduced as an important concept to enhance our concern for qualitative changes and bringing about quality assurance.Accordingly, as a first step the monthly meetings of the Principals/In-charge Principals of DIETshave been re-oriented to the extent of exploring various conceptual areas of total quality management &
 
its offshoots the maintenance of quality is an unending journey. After orientation of the DIET principals at SCERT head quarter in TQM, the reorientation programmes have also been organized at Lucknow in SCERT and at Meerut in DIET for one week with the help of National level experts. The DIETs have now been asked to develop their own plans on TQM concerns according to their local perceptions and the perceived endeavors of the staff as well as the stakeholders. Certain modifications have been agreed upon and the follow up is continuing. The preparation of the proposals and the action taken with regard to TQM is being continuously monitored in the monthly meetings of the DIETs.
